I was taken out of action back in early December and immobilized for a month, losing my normal level of functioning. This work of rehabilitation, building back some of the systems we often take for granted, is hard work. And it’s slow. Using my railroad metaphor, when the tracks were being repaired, the engineers received a “SLOW ORDER” which meant reduce speed and proceed with caution. In that spirit, and while I continue to recoup, I am posting an earlier piece below that seems appropriate as another verse in the same song. Many of you may not have seen this early September post and those that have can make the connection. This may have a little of the flavor of “rinse and repeat” or here we go again. One exception is that this time around is going to take longer and require more. Instead of minor repairs and a quick return, one day at a time moving forward step by step has taken on life of its own.
