I really enjoyed reading that. I'm an armchair traveler, never having had the opportunity myself. I now, very suddenly it seems, find myself in my elder years with all sorts of hinderances (arthritis in my feet, for one) that makes me think my window has closed. That's ok...because of people like you!

There are still kind strangers willing to help out.

Great post, Gary. Can’t agree more. Being on either side of the kindness between strangers is one of the most wonderful things about traveling. :)

I always enjoy hearing and learning about other people's travels. And there ARE good people in this world!

Thank you, Gary. As you know, I’ve enjoyed your memoir, and it’s great to hear you’re still on the move. I’m glad you have the means and wherewithal to enjoy your travels.

Thanks, Katherine. We are blessed to be able to enjoy being "on the move" and grateful for every day. I have a notion of another short memoir to follow on "Seven Decades: A Learning Memoir" as it's been more than another decade. Any suggestions for a title are welcome.

"Ten Years of Living Large." ? Ten chapters, one for each year?

Sounds good to me. Richard B. in England has continued to expand his “Savage Poodle” writings. He has a great piece here on Substack about D-Day which you might enjoy.
