First published in book form in 1922 by a little-known novelist named Margery Williams Bianco, it has now been in print for just over a century, selling over a million copies in the U.S. alone.I gave my wife a velvet covered copy, a special edition : Press of A. Colish, 1974. with label on cover. This edition has six mounted color illustrations by Marie Angel that are mounted on glossy paper. Great addition to a library!
