Beautiful, insightful and full of heart as usual Gary. Thank you for this. I loved this line especially...."Fear knocked at the door, faith answered. No one was there".

Like Diana below, you and many others our family took some of the "leaps", and even though some of them were far from easy and the experience not all peaches and cream, in retrospect so valuable. Small subset of examples. Up sticks and moved to China from the US...six small kids under 12 and some very deep breaths. Moving to a rural location up a dirt road here in Australia having lived a life filled with big city living. I don't think we have any location changes in our future Gary, but some internal landscape changes keep peaking around the corners at us, that may require the same leap. 🙂

Well said, Ian, thanks for sharing this. There seems to be an interesting relationship between internal and external changes, one feeding the other, a kind of reciprocity perhaps? My tagline for years has been "Change is inevitable. Plan carefully." That and there are two kinds of change, planned and unplanned. I said somewhere else recently, we make plans as insurance for the future and so far we have been cashing in gratefully.

Amen Gary. Although I always stay open to the spirit of the joke...how to make God laugh......share your plans. :)

We have just sold our big family home and are moving into a new engineered lake community into a bungalow villa about half the size. More of a lock and leave home so we can do some travelling. We are semi retired and in our early 60’s.

We lived in our community for 28 years, raising our kids, building our careers and enjoying our neighbors.

It’s a big change and we are stepping into the unknown. A chance to grow, make new friendships and learn more about the world. A calculated risk yes but if not now when?

We only go around once (that we are aware of) and intend on living life to the fullest.

Your post hit home today. Thank you

Diana, Terrific! You are coming along right behind us. We did that been there in our 60's, did it a couple of times again in our 70's and, just a year ago, 80's for me, mid 70's for S. we did it with a move to Mexico, some details of which are here in an earlier post. Yes to lock and leave and travel, Yes to living fully and gratefully. Yes to new adventures and learning. I hadn't thought about the connection between this current post and the moving to Mexico but they are obviously connected somewhere in my DNA.

Where in Mexico? We have been going to PV for 24 years for varying amounts of time and consider it our second home. Sadly not yet fluent in Spanish, working, raising children and owning your own businesses can do that.

Now being semi retired, we can make a much better effort.

What appeals most to you about Mexico?

What is most appealing is a different culture with different values - $$ is not number one here, family is at the top of the list. We visited many times and the earlier post "Why We Moved to Mexico" has some details. San Miguel de Allende is in the Central Highlands, about 3 hrs northwest of Mexico City. We keep traveling while we still can, know that will slow down and come to an end some day.

Thank you, Gary. I so love the expression Leap of Faith for we don’t have it in French which settles for a leap in the unknown which is not quite the same for it misses the Trust in the Universe part. I am currently in the middle of one of my biggest leap of faith and so far so good except maybe for the financial part that is kind of getting scarce but I trust that nothing lasts and after the rain comes the golden pot at the rainbow foot. I know in what joyful land I wish that leap will lead me but though I can see the horizon, I don’t get to see the landing spot yet but I am discovering so many new beautiful landscapes and creatures and having so much fun in the process and that’s the whole point of it all, right? Lots of love.

Merci, Geraldine! Good on you for moving forward and trusting the changes that are waiting for you. Like other creating, this is a process of creating your future There are pieces that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle and that takes time, focus and concentration, among other things. I've been helping people and organizations do this for many years and have recently resumed the practice, very part-time with a few select clients. I celebrate your explorations and discoveries and the joy you express on your journey. When I look at the big "leaps" and changes I made, and endured, over the past 60 year, it's a wonder I survived and am still here, learning and changing, and......like you, enjoying the ride.
